Frequently Asked Questions
What is Meals on Wheels of Wyoming Valley?
We are a community-based, non-profit program that provides meals to senior citizens or those in need of prepared meals. We do not receive any government funds and are 100% funded by the cost of meals and your generous donations.
What do the meals cost?
Meals cost $30 week or just $6/day. Each week day delivery includes a hot meal and a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a slice of bread with butter, and a dessert. Clients only pay for the deliveries they receive.
Who prepares the food?
We have paid staff and volunteers who help in the kitchen to prepare nutritious meals. We consult with a registered dietician for all our recipes and offer our clients both regular and diabetic meals upon request.
Where do you deliver?
Meals on Wheels of Wyoming Valley currently serves clients in the greater Wyoming Valley area of Northeastern Pennsylvania. For a complete list of cities where we deliver, check out the cities listed on our Get Meals page. If your city is not listed there, new routes can be created if there is adequate interest and volunteers to staff them. Just ask!
What days are deliveries?
Every Monday through Friday, unless you’ve requested other special options or there is a holiday or inclement weather. We do not put our volunteers at risk in snowy weather.
